Missourians are tired of paying higher prices for just about everything. These skyrocketing costs are being driven by one thing: corporate greed. In fact, corporate profits reached record highs last year – and people are starting to notice. According to Pew Research, 61% of Americans say corporations don’t pay their fair share. Despite these greedy corporations raking in record profits off the backs of Missouri families, Republicans in the Missouri Legislature refused to hold these corporations accountable. Instead, House Republicans pushed an extreme plan to cut corporate taxes again in 2024. I was proud to vote NO and to stand up for Missouri families who are tired of paying for a CEO’s second yacht.
We need tax relief for working families, not more handouts for corporations and millionaires. The truth is, even when counting states that have no corporate tax at all, Missouri still has the EIGHTH LOWEST CORPORATE TAX RATE IN THE COUNTRY and is lower than or equal to all our surrounding states. Corporations raking in record profits do not need ANOTHER tax cut. What Missouri needs is real relief for working families. That’s what I’ve been fighting for, and what I will continue to fight for every day.
