Union contractors and members from Citadel Electric, Clean & Courteous Plumbing, Butler Supply, and Milbank Manufacturing teamed up to fix the electrical and plumbing systems at a veteran in Kansas City, MO’s home.
Electricians performed a service upgrade, with a new 200 amp panel from an existing 60 amp service. Evergy had sent notice of disconnecting electrical service while the veteran was in the VA hospital.
Kansas City’s trade union’s stepped in to protect this veteran in need. The veteran is now in the comfort of his own home without without worries of having his power shut off.
Many of Kansas City’s unions perform residential work, so The Labor Beacon will begin publishing stories on their work and will publish a list of residential service providers moving forward so that union members can frequent union shops for the needs of their own homes.
