LMC Sets Summer, Fall Schedule

The Labor-Management Council of Greater Kansas City hopes you can keep cool this week and continue enjoying our community’s hosting of the World Cup as we begin our summer and fall programs helping meet our mission of enhancing collaboration by solidifying trust and communication between labor and management in the community.

Here are opportunities for you to engage with leaders in labor, management, government and the community:

The LMC Board of Directors July 15.  The Board will consider, among other topics, LMC positions on ballot issues for the August primary.  LMC members can provide input to any board member or to bob.jacobi@rockhurst.edu.

The Aetna Capital Electric Construction Pipefitters Local 533 IBEW Local 124 28th Craig Whitaker Memorial LMC Golf Tournament July 21 at Eagles Landing Golf Club.  Registration form is below.

The LMC Construction Industry Committee resumes meeting Thursday, Aug. 13, 8 a.m., Mark One Electric Co. with Unified Government Mayor Cristal Watson.  The committee meets the 2nd Thursday each month at 8 a.m., Mark One, except for July.

The 6th LMC Sporting Clay Shoot is Sept. 17 at Saddle & Sirloin.  Registration form below.

•The LMC/BOMA-KC Public Officials Reception Oct. 15, 5:30-7:30 p.m., Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.  Registration form is below.

The LMC also mourns the recent deaths of some of the leaders who helped make our mission possible—co-founder William H. Dunn, Sr., Ed Drake and Dick Cook.  Our condolences to their families and thanks for sharing their talents with us.

Labor-Management Council Golf Tournament

The Labor-Management Council Golf Tournament brings together top labor and management leaders in an informal atmosphere combining cooperation and competition.  The tournament recognizes its founder Craig Whitaker, longtime LMC Board member.   Eagles Landing Golf Club is an outstanding public course.  It’s located at 4200 Bong Ave., Belton MO 64012.   All ability levels welcome!

7:30 a.m.–Registration and access to putting and driving practice begins

8 a.m.–Shot-gun start for the four-person scramble

10:30 a.m.-Noon—Lunch on the course

12:30 p.m.:  Awards Presentation

Sixth Annual Labor-Management Council Sporting Clays Shoot

Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026 • Saddle & Sirloin Club

You are invited to participate in the Labor-Management Council’s fourth annual Sporting Clays Shoot Sept. 17, 2026 at the Saddle & Sirloin Club, 14401 Holmes, KCMO 64145.  The shoot provides another way for labor and management to build relationships and show that we have been so successful in enhancing labor-management collaboration that we can trust both to have guns in the same place!

The event features 100 shots, a pre-shoot luncheon at 11:30 a.m. and a post-shoot reception.  The shoot begins at 1 p.m.  Here is how you can participate:

2026 Public Officials Reception Sponsorship Form

The LMC’s 2026 annual Public Officials Reception will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 15 at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.

We are now accepting reception sponsorships.  Sponsors will be listed on the printed invitation that goes to public officials and LMC members if check or commitment is received by Sept. 15.  Sponsorships received by Oct. 13 will be listed on the printed program and all sponsors will be listed in post-event publicity.  Sponsors are crucial to the event’s success.  Sponsorships can be reserved by emailing or mailing the information below to the LMC or by sending a check:
